The Production  Supervisor supervises and coordinates all activities of production as it relates to output, quality and efficiency. The Supervisor is also responsible for enforcing all rules set forth by Palermo’s, USDA and OSHA


Essential Functions:

  • Monitor production to be sure all products are produced to the established specifications and quality set forth by Palermo’s.
  • Monitor production to ensure daily schedule attainment for lines are meet.
  • Supervise daily activities of team members in the operations department.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels are maintained.
  • Monitor material usage on lines to prevent over or under usage of materials.
  • Make sure all production related paperwork is completed according to Palermo, USDA and BRC policies.
  • Must participate in the training of rules, regulations, safety, job expectations through coaching and mentoring to achieve desired performance, GMP’s and CI projects.
  • Help secure building during emergency situations and drill. 

Safety and Health:

  • Conduct regular work site reviews to assure that team members are working in a safe and proper manner according to company policies. That all PPE’s are being worn by team members.
  • Monitor the condition of equipment in the department, notify maintenance of needed repairs.
  • In the event of an accident or injury, investigate the accident and prepare necessary reports defined by Safety department and Palermo policies.
  • Enforce rules and regulations.


  • Maintain accurate records for team members attendance histories, disciplinary actions, promotions, etc..
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed. 

Direct Reports: 130+ employees.


Work Environment:

  • Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and fork trucks.
  • Long hours of mental activity.
  • Deadlines can be short and information accuracy critical.
  • Temperature fluctuations ranging from moderate to freezing. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to work in 45 degree temperatures 70% of the time.
  • Must be able to be on feet 70% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.

  • Manufacturing experience, frozen food a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and follow­up skills.
  • Ability to problem solve effectively and efficiently.
  • Effective oral and written communication, must be able to read, write and communicate in English, bilingual a plus.
  • 1-2 years Supervisory experience preferred.


  • Bachelor degree preferred.
